近期，英特尔通过前不久收购的英飞凌公司（Infineon），又收购了德国一家专门从事LTE技术的公司，此举意味着英特尔和高通在无线市场上的竞争进一步升温。
　　今年8月，英特尔宣布斥资14亿美元收购英飞凌无线业务，该无线业务部门仍然作为独立的商业部门维持运作。

　　英飞凌在一直与德国专注于LTE技术的Blue Wonder公司合作，在过去一年里，英飞凌花费了一半的精力在LTE的基带技术上，现又正式接收Blue Wonder Communications。

　　一名英飞凌新闻发言人表示，“Blue Wonder公司专注于LTE的经验，将弥补英飞凌无线晶片部门(WLS)长期存在的LTE发展不力。英飞凌WLS将接管所有Blue Wonder公司的员工，不过我们双方达成一致暂不透露交易价格和细节。”

　　这条消息的发布仅在高通宣布扩张德国市场之后，高通此举很可能刺激到了英特尔。虽然英特尔是全球芯片界的明星企业，但是并没有在无线通信领域取得同样的成功，而高通已将公司开到了英特尔家门口。

　　此前，英特尔一直专注于WiMAX技术，不过首席执行官欧德宁却表示，英特尔也会把LTE技术作为一种选择，除了推迟其在台湾的WiMAX动作以外，英特尔收购LTE公司是第一个倾向于LTE的明显动作。

　　Forward Concepts公司的总裁兼首席分析师Will Strauss表示：“实际上英特尔的增长大多是在LTE技术上。”
