Berkeley的电子与计算机工程系牛不牛?答案与否关键还是看你自己牛不牛:-)。反正我觉得比较牛。当然,一个学校或系牛不牛,与从其中出来的学生牛不牛没有直接的关系。但是从统计的角度,牛校,或者牛系,或者更重要的,牛实验室出来的学生,牛的概率大一些。非要说江西大学计算机系也不一定比Berkely EECS差,那就是抬杠了:-)。估计也就马云同学会相信。
Berkeley EECS每年都会把其教授们这一年的研究项目公布出来,从而大家可以知道他们在做些什么东西。其网站为:Berkeley EECS Research Summary。而且每年还出版免费的书,供大家参阅。
这是2009年EECS的2009 Research Summary。 我们来略微浏览一下。例如,看看是否有什么道计算机的研究,或者IPV9的研究与否。美国教授其实抄袭的也不少。当然方舟子对洋人抄袭似乎不敢兴趣,或者说,不敢有兴趣。

我有时想,为什么ACM不给他一个Turing奖?他应该得一个,大家该多高兴呀。别成天就是Programming Language的。。。
我看了一下Parallel Laboratory (ParLab)的工作。我个人确实认为学术界要在这方面下工夫。非常头疼的事情。并行编程已经要离开风花雪月的科学计算等领域,要进入工业控制系统。这里面的问题大了去了。。。
