这是IETF会议第一次在中国召开，会议的举办单位是清华大学。IETF是国际互联网协会（ISOC）领导下的全球互联网技术开发和标准制定的唯一组织。在中国举办IETF大会对推动中国参与国际互联网技术开发和标准化工作有着非常重要的战略意义。

IETF 79: November 7-12, 2010, Beijing, China
•2010-11-01 (Monday): Registration cancellation cut-off at 17:00 PT (01:00 Tuesday, November 02 UTC).
•2010-11-05 (Friday): Final Pre-Registration and Pre-Payment cut-off at 17:00 local Beijing time. (02:00 PT, 09:00 UTC).
•2010-11-07 – 2010-11-12: 79th IETF Meeting in Beijing, China.
•2010-12-10 (Friday): Proceedings submission cutoff date by 17:00 PT (01:00 Saturday, December 11 UTC), upload using IETF Meeting Materials Management Tool.
•2011-01-05 (Wednesday): Proceedings submission corrections cutoff date by 17:00 PT (01:00 Thursday, January 6 UTC), upload using IETF Meeting Materials Management Tool.

    In my humble opinion, Tony is actually a wrong icon to set up for young engineers. He’s unmanageable and uncontrollable. Many people who worked with Tony in the past told me the experience was unpleasant or at very minimum uncomfortable. Only Cisco can take him back four times. No other company could do it.
